Launch.ed is a free service, provided by the University of Edinburgh for its students, to support the formation of start-up and spin-out companies. It provides bespoke commercialisation support for those who want to take the first step to turning their ideas into a reality.
Scottish Institute for Enterprise works across all HEIs in Scotland to provide a free service for all of Scotland's students to encourage enterprising spirit and skills, and help start-up companies become the businesses of tomorrow. They organise student enterprise events, a Business Plan Competition, and one-to-one business advice through a regional business advisor. Enterprise EducationTranskills Courses for Business and Enterprise Training The University of Edinburgh has developed a programme of workshops to provide business and entrepreneurial skills education and training to post-graduate students. The programme is primarily a series of short half-day workshops. All events are free of charge and non-credit bearing. Workshops are held primarily for post-graduate students and are usually held in the Sanderson Building on the King's Buildings campus. Undergraduate Credit-Bearing CoursesA range of undergraduate courses and degree programmes are offered within the College of Science and Engineering by the Technology Management Unit. of Engineering and Electronics, Entrepreneurship ClubsE-ClubThe Edinburgh Entrepreneurship Club at the University of Edinburgh Management School (UEMS) is a consortium of postgraduate Edinburgh students, alumni, researchers, faculty and staff, and colleagues from the wider community who share a common goal of fostering the entrepreneurial spirit. The clubs hosts visits from a wide range of external speakers to provide inspirational talks followed by an opportunity to network and socialise. Student Run-SocietiesiCUEiCue is a registered Edinburgh University society, which strives to develop the practical business skills, entrepreneurial spirit and employability of its members by allowing them to perform real world business tasks within a fully operational student company. iCue is open to all current matriculated students of the University of Edinburgh. ESOCA student run organisation promoting and supporting entrepreneurship within Edinburgh University. ESOC is open to all current matriculated undergraduate students of the University of Edinburgh.
